Just finished my "display" bearded dragon enclosures (pics)

deuce02 Dec 19, 2005 09:08 PM

Just thought id share a few pics of my display cages i just finished. The one on top measures 48" wide, 20" deep and high. It has a glass front with a pull open top screen door. Its lights are attached to the top. The bottom tow are both 48" wide and 20" deep and 18" high. They both have plexi glass sliding doors which will be soon replaced by glass once i get the money to have them cut. The plexi gets way too scratched up.

Hope you enjoy.
thanks

Wow, nice job on the cages. Is there anyway to mount a fluorescent fixture in each cage? They really look great, but I think a fixture with a reptisun 10.0 would provide an overall brighter enclosure, and not to mention additional UVB. I would go with the 10.0 only for the reason that this bulbs uvb can penetrate down deeper then the average fluorescent.

those lights in the cages look like they have MVB's in them. do they?

if they do then i would put in flourescent fixtures with regular tubes.

Actually all 3 cages are running normal 75 watt flood bulbs. They keep the cages perfect. Im at 100-110 on all 3 basking spots and 80-85 on the cool end from one normal 75 watt. These cages hold heat very well. I originally ran 2 basking fixtures, one on each side thinking id need the heat but that turned out to be way too hot. Thats why u see the light turned off in this pic. Now for UV. All of them are running 18" under counter florescent fixures you can purchase from home depot. You just have to find the right ones that hold the size bulb the 10.0s are. They ran me $9 ea. Now 2 cages have 10.0's on them now and one still has the 5.0 in it. The 5.0 will be switch when its time to turn it over, which is in jan.
