I need some advise in a health related issue on my Aru GTP

Lajunglist Dec 20, 2005 09:07 AM

Well this question will be answer later today by the vet and some exams, but never the less have you guys and girls had any popping sound coming of the mouth of your GTP, that with a lot of what appears to be yawning but as I research they don't yawn they are actually adjusting their jaw.

Not only those two symptoms but also when i put him in his cage he actually look like he was dry heaving (I’ve only seen it on people and my self when we drink too much and have nothing on their stomach) well he did it couple of times and then he was fine

Well I tough i may ask since it has me concern and you guys here have some beautiful GTP and have probably been back and forward with them.
I called LLReptiles witch in my opinion are petty respectable for their service and products but told me that their policy only covers 24hrs on arrival for this type of animal. So I don't mind if I have to spend more than what i pay for him on the vet, will call it an expensive Xmas Gift for my self.

I just want I healthy and comfortable Aru GTP, just like my Suriname Red tail. (Don’t take me wrong i would never compare the two but just emphasizing on the health of my Childs.)
If any one has any feedback it will be greatly appreciated

Sounds like an RI.

It can and is fatal to chondros if not treated right away. It's a very serious manner if dealing with neonates.

LLL Should replace your animal. Any respectable breeder would. Given it looks like your going to be spending a bit more money on vet bills. Though, they dont breed their chondros... anywho.

This should help you

See a vet RIGHT AWAY this not to be taken lightly and will be a long process.

keep in close contact with Scott. He was very fair when I had problems w/ a pair of white lipped pythons I purchased. He gave me a credit after I couldn't get them too feed. This was beyond the health guarantee, and I know the guarantee on GTP's is only 24 hrs. As long as you keep in touch, and keep him updated, he should take care of you.

I'm not a hundred percent sure but I think I read on some other forum that someone elses chondro did the popping noise as well though for whatever reason it was a sign of an oncoming shed. As for the dry heaving, I've never heard of that and it IMHO prolly isn't a good thing.

I recomend checking out the (chondroweb.com) and the (moreliaviridis.com) forums. It was posted somewhere in there, also it may not hurt to post this question on those forums. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
