i really need some help from you guys out there.

i just found out that my new baby aru GTP has RI and i need to try to keep his temps up and his humidity really high well to be exact temps of around 90 and humidity of no lower than 60 for about a week.

also every 4 days i have to keep going to the vet for two shots one of Penicillin and an other of antibiotics.

so any advice is greatly appreciated.

i really want to keep my baby aru alive and money is not and obsticle here.

to be honest i could spend $1000 to keep my $400 aru GTP alive.

Make sure you REALLY trust your vet, and he/she is a specialist!
I noticed the dry substrate in your prev. pics and thought about humidity problems. Try keeping it in a plastic shoebox as many breeders do. Check all the recent posts from Julian Garcia on the topic of enclosures (size etc.). He gives some great advice. Good luck!

Yes the trust on the vet part, I’m in search for a new vet being that the shots given to the little guy are and could lead to liver problems and well I have an appointment for Friday with a vet that knows of GTP from my conversation whit her.

Also as soon as i got home yesterday from the vet i changed the bedding to a wet and high humidity substrate and I also got a humidifier for the room and for treatments.

Your right on Monday I order a custom made cage from MD Custom Caging to help hold humidity since with the cage I have is ok but not the best.

With the modifications of the substrate and the humidifier i have now reached a good environment for the little one while it goes trough these hard times.

Also when i order the cage from Paul he told me he had 30 GTP at one point and he was very helpful with some advice when I called him today with some questions about my little guy.

for his help and good advice and not only that but for the nice custom made cage he could make i got to give it up.

I used baytril on an emerald, and amikacin on my newly aquired chondro i got from a friend who did not know how to care for it. the baytril suspension worked fine but it had to be injected every 48 hours, and a ringers solution injected every day for 2 weeks. The amikacin was 1 week straight with ringers also . Check with a qulified vet who also is qualified with herps too. my vet gave me baytril for my emerald because it was in the early stages of upper RI, and he prescribed amikacin for the chondro because it was breathing with a slightly open mouth, with thick clear mucus discharge. after i administered meds to both of them and dropped the humidity and raised the temp to 94 deg. they pulled through. p.s. I use 150 watt pearlco ceramic element in all 10 of my arboreal cages.
