The biggest Rattler I have seen in a long time "WARNING GRAPHIC"

jasonw Dec 21, 2005 12:49 AM

This was given to me by my boss. The email that it came in said it was found in Texas, It came in at 9'1" in length and 97LBS I would also like to note that the person who sent the email said it was unfortunate to have to kill such a creture but it was just to close to a populated spot and they couldnt let it run free. Well just thought you would enjoy the picture. Sorry for its large size but I did not resize it.

Assuming you don't already know, I'll give you a hint: Borrow a pair of 4 foot tongs from someone and try to hold even 15 pounds in the jaws they way this guy is doing. If you can manage it, then ask yourself if the 120 pound man in this picture could hold 97 pounds that way without much apparent effort.

OK, one more hint: This really obvious hoax has been discussed here and everywhere else on the web for a couple of months now.

If I'm not mistaken, the same pic, with the same ridiculous caption, and the same responses from other posters is only a few threads down. This pic has definitely made it's rounds on the net, and how anybody actually believes it is beyond me...what Larry said is spot on, try holding 97 lbs. 4 ft. out in front of you with a pair of tongs. Not gonna happen.

It's all about lack of depth perception...the snake is probably along the lines of 4-5 ft.

Right, in the movie biz, it's a trick called "forced perspective" Rent Attack of the fifty foot woman and you'll understand. The original movie from the fifties, not the remake;0).

of a 3 D movie where things are thrown at you on screen. They seeem to " project " as these pics of large rattlers do !

Wow not the responces I expected. Oh well sorry I dont hang around in this forum. This picture was emailed to me and I just figured I would pass it along. Perhaps if I used this forum more often I would have known this had already been posted.
