My turn for pics!! Warning for modems and those faint of heart

rainbowsrus Dec 21, 2005 04:03 AM

Last chance, if you don't want to be jealous, GO BACK NOW!!!

Enjoy, these are why I love BRB's so much!!

2005 Screamers that I held back for breeders:

First up are two from my Savannah x Porky litter. The first is a female with no crescents. The second, her brother, is the brightest individual from the litter. These two are the brightest babies I've ever seen, they just glow.

Three more screamers from two other litters:

Now for some of 2004's I brought in for new blood:

Daisey is from Howard Leong, one of his holdbacks he parted with, lucky for me since she is fabulous and should make a great breeder.

Next up Rusty, from EBV, A very red individual.

Two from a wild caught crossed with a CBB, thought it would be good to have some fresh blood.

Two more 2004 females, both from different bloodlines.

And last but certainly not least is Savannah, mother to the two on top. I bought her at a show as an adult in 2004. Got her very cheap $250, she needed some work though, her eyecaps were quite crusted over. I believe she must have been kept in low humidity for quite some time. With care, a nice humid cage and several sheds later, WOW she is screaming red. Every time she sheds I have to take her out and just drool some more. She is my only problem adult eater, she will only eat live, no F/K, no stunned only live. So I watch her eat and hold her food by the tail till she takes it down.

is my favorite current breeder. It never ceases to amaze me that as gorgeous as she was, she was mistreated and sold so cheaply. When I bought her she was in shed but I could see potential underneath the blued out skin. After her first shed with me she looked pretty good but nowhere near where she does now. It's amazing how lack of humidity/food/proper care (not sure which ones) can affect several layers of skin.

Really nice group of boas Dave. You've got a great collection. I bought my first male from EBV and he's still my favorite.

rainbowsrus Dec 22, 2005 09:12 PM

thanks, she was one of those here, take my wallet, I've got to have her (he was kind and only took asking price) . Really glad Howard was selling her. She will definately be in my "A" list breeders.

The male from EBV will also be one of my "A" list breeders, He is the nicest I've seen from EBV. I was looking for a male and went through many of theirs before I saw him and WOW he was so much brighter than the rest.

Dave,
...Those are amazing. I can't decide which of your adults I like the best. Have you got any PICs showing the bullseyes on the 2005 BRBs you had for sale in the classified ads? It just amazes me that those snakes did not sell just as soon as you posted the ads.
Jeff

Hey Jeff, I have some side pics, I'll load them up and post later tonight.

I'm 1.5 years into my 6 year plan to upgrade all my breeders to outstanding screamers. 2007 will start to see the fruits of my labor.

A few side pics from some of my bullseye babies. All taken at night inside....crappy lighting so colors are off but patterns are correct.

That animal from Howard Leong is really pretty. I remember seeing his ad for babies last year. The adults they came from were the reddest animals I'd ever seen. I thought about getting one. Should have listened to that little voice. The snake on the branch is hot too. I hope it keeps some of that contrast between saddles and background.

Thanks Mike, looking forward to adding your pair of hypomels to my collection. As you know, my long term plan is to outcross the hypomels and strengthen the line. Between yours and Celia's hypomels and my various lines of normals, should be able to create several pretty much unrelated lines of hypomels.

BTW, everything is in place for January.
