all the fun

xblackheart Dec 21, 2005 10:44 AM

You guys on the east coast have all the fun. I can not find any new stock on the West coast. I'd have to have them shipped to me. I guess what I have now will have to do until they all have babies. I'm jealous!

Thanks for the link by the way!

West coast. Cali, near Sacramento. Not many local breeders here. Can you call reptile breeders back yard breeders (BYB)? Only one guy I know who breeds and knows what he's doing. Most of my stock is from him, but had to get other bloodlines, so I have a few from the pet expo that comes each year (the guy I get my snakes from actually sponsors and arranges the West coast reptile expos).
I play an online game called Guild Wars and all my friends are on the east coast as well. I think I need to move! Although it will never happen!

I'm also near Sacramento. I haven't purchased anything from the gentleman you were talking about but he and I have talked on many occasions. There's actually a breeder in Napa who attends the expos and I like the stock I've bought from him. He's breeding lavs and carmel hets and has mixed most with motley. I can't find anybody locally selling decent stripes which makes me mad because they're my fav. E-mail me if you ever want to chat about the local reptile scene.

This pic is an amel mot het lav from the Napa breeder I mentioned.

I'm in California, near San Jose. There is one good show in Sacramento, as well as the NARBC the past two years in Anahiem. The NARBC show was great, Kathy Love even had a table! I also expect to have a good variety of morphs this season.

The guy I was talking about sets up the pet show in Sac and the ones in the bay area. He owns Pets2Go in Elk Grove. I usually just wait for the annual pet expo to introduce new stock. I will try the recommended site, though. Now that I know I am not alone on the West Coast, I feel better.
Thanks.
