About a month ago, my iguana developed a bump below his lower jaw. This bump got bigger and turned black and scabby over the month. Anyways, I am....poor. I can't afford a vet, but i bought some reptile antibacterial antiseptic stuff and salved it on the bump twice a day. It turned into a large black scab. This morning, I noticed the entire scab fell out! Now what is left is a gaping hole with no blood, but a little pus, i think. The hole is surrounded by inflamed tissue, so it looks like a crater.. Anyways, I have always taken great care of him to the best of my knowledge, and he still eats like a pro. He is 5 years old.

I would appreciate any advice/feedback/diagnosis, because I am not sure what to do next, but i still cannot afford a vet.

thanks

Get a vet. If you explain your situation you may get a vet to take a look at it. Some vets will see the animal and let you make payments. J
