small victory for science!

DeanAlessandrini Dec 21, 2005 03:20 PM

Small victory…

US district judge John E. Jones just officially barred a public school in PA from teaching intelligent design in biology class as science, stating it was “creationism in disguise”

He said a 6 week trial revealed “overwhelming evidence” that intelligent design “is a religious view”

Set that precedent !!

(sorry my friend Fred...religion is religion...and should be taught as religion)

Absoultely.
They have a freaking museum here in N KY in an attempt to convince people that it is science.

They have people a dinosaurs living side be side...etc.
They throw around "scientific" terms (in incorrect context)
It's trickery...and it's unethical.

Sounds like the one in central texas which claims dinosaur foot prints are the tracks of giant humans.....

You mean they weren't?
Next thing you'll tell me is that my wife didn't catch that disease from a toilet seat like she says.

Dean etc al....

I think that:

Prayer should be taught in schools. Religion should be taught in schools. And schools should also teach the truth. History written from the point of the oppressor and not the oppressed.

Im not put off by Deans post.I like Dean, truly. Hes a fellow Dry keeper, so you know hes a good guy

But I truly think that, with:

The UNITED STATES of AMERICA waging an unjust war in a ravaged country where we are not welcome or wanted, at the cost of Iraq citzens and U.S. soldiers lives. And BILLIONS of our tax dollars. While huge islands of poverty exist in what is inarguebaly the wealthiest nation on the face of this earth.

The Major Media outlets disseminating MISINFORMATION, not only about the war, but about the state of our ECONOMY and the deeds of our elected GOVERNMENT officils and lastly the role that major CORPORATIONS are playing in impovershing the majority of the people on this planet.

Major corporations playing an active role in destroying our atmosphere. And selling off the rights to do so...

With all these things going on, prayer in school seems like a small thing. If we live in apolice state who cares about prayer? or school for that matter?

Just my opinions, its just another subject to argue about and stay occupied with other than the REALY important ones.

Wait!! Fred....your talking about the ,minds of Americas YOUTH!!

Well....umm, since we feed them half truths, outright lies and misinformation allready, a littel religion wont hurt will it?

I think we should teach all major religions in school.
Under the title of religion.

And teach science under the title of science.

And totally have the history books written because they are full of lies

sincerely,

Fred Albury

That Iraq business reminds me of another war some thirty odd years ago , And I felt then like you, and I, feel now about this one. Also agree that religion and science should both be taught under their respective titles.

"Prayer should be taught in schools. Religion should be taught in schools. And schools should also teach the truth."

Why can't we just start with the truth?

ginebig Dec 31, 2005 11:13 PM

'cause between religion and science we can't make a determination on what the truth is? Which 'truth' would you like to settle on?
