Red eastern diamond back rattle snake questions.....

I have a friend that lives in Savannah and near Tybbe Island and they told me alot of the eastern diamond back rattlers found around and in the marshes down there are red. Has anyone ever heard of a red eastern diamond back rattle snakes before? Also could it be a locale?
