ASAP. Help with Eggs.

seboba17 Dec 21, 2005 05:20 PM

I have to trasnpsort two new leopard eggs tommorrow from CT to NY. They were a surprise. Any ideas to maintain temperature. I won't be able to jack the heat up, cause i'm bringing home crested gecko eggs too. If I heat up an untertank heater and stick it in a soft cooler, would that maintain the temp for two hours? Any ideas?

Thanks.

use heat packs (the disposable ones), a cooler, a digital thermometer w/probe inside the cooler, and a passenger to do the heat reg for you.
you should be able to get some sort of heat pack for the purpose, like hand warmer ones from a sporting goods store.

Do you have a purchased incubator or homemade tank type?

If you have them in purchased incubator I would get a converter plug for your car and take the incubator with you. This way you insure there are not temp fluctuations, which can cause the eggs to either die or produce unhealthy and/or deformed hatchlings.
