Eastern Breeding Question

Dann Dec 22, 2005 07:52 AM

Can anyone help me with this question?

Is it typical for the female to enter a shed cycle directly after breeding?

Observation: Observed breeding occurred two weeks after her last completed shed. Female refused male first week of December. Then she went directly into another shed cycle. Her shed cycle is now off the norm for her and very early. Why? Stress of breeding maybe? The male was a little demanding in his efforts.

Thanks for any help on this. I need to go to the store and by more Rolaids and Rogaine….

I would take it as a good sign. Hy hunch is hormones. I had a Spilotes do the same thing and got a perfect clutch of eggs from that female. Good Luck.

I don't worry much about shed cycles this time of year. There are several things like cooler temps, different light cycles, etc., that cause dry's to just be weird this time of year.

As was mentioned before, it was probably from the breeding efforts causing hormonal changes.

Hope you get some babies out of it.
