I can't believe it. Everyone knows that the 4" rule is enforced in MD, it's a state regulation here, you'd have to be a fool to try it at a herp show in MD. Even stranger is that I'm at Havre de Grace fairly regularly (it's a monthly event), and I've never seen a DNR officer there. I've always thought that the organizer ran a very legal show, at least as far as I could see on top of the tables. Even if I don't approve of some of the merchandise the vendors have at that show, I thought it was one of the more law abiding shows out there. I'd believe it if you said it was a flea market, but I thought everyone at Havre de Grace would know better.

What species?

Sulcatas and Hermanns. The organiser of the event was not aware that they were there...they were under the table, and was not happy that the tortoises were there. The DNR was in the area because of some unlawful deer hunting.

SHHHH. Whewr hunting wrabbits. It's wrabbit season. . .

Get real.

These jokers were probably undercover. Whoooo someone has a 3" turtle- call in the backups. I'm sure glad to not live in MD. A show without turtles or tortoises is no show worth attending to me. The MD state law seems more strict than the Federal one. Again, state or federal- the 4 inch turtle law is one of the dumbest laws ever put on the books in this country. All because of worthless red ear sliders in the 1970's. Ban all the RES so we could move on with the hobby of keeping turtles and tortoises. Someday soon I hope people wake up to this craziness and purge the law.

And you guys call yourself terrapins- the name of the college should be changed!
