Genetic striped ghost or is it the hypo gene tweaking the pattern? Also, very very nice 03 female albino het stripe. Looks a lot like mine.

I dont know for sure about the Ghost Ruben. I appreciate the comments, I think your albino is actually a sunglow though lucky dog!

Thanks,
Mark

I keep hearing that from people. Alot of people have been saying she looks like a sunglow but there are a couple things that make me think otherwise. Not being able to see the white rings around the upper saddles is wierd but if I can remeber right when she was a baby I could see some white around the upper saddles but not that much. Just recently I saw a hypo that did infact have black borders around his upper saddles which made me think more about it but i'd think she'd have more color in the sides of her tail? Then I saw a sunglow male in the classifieds that didn't really have any color in the sides of his tail sooooooooooo? I don't know? She is curently for sale so if someone pix her up I guess they'll find out. I really don't mind if she doesn't sell cause she's so awesome and if she did turn out to be a sunglow and I sold her I think i'd have to kick my self in the a$$ for a week straight. I think she's a super nice albino het stripe but i'm no pro. Your female is the closest thing i've seen to her at that size.

I do get striping in my ghosts and hypos which appears to be from the hypo; the normals from the litters don't show it. As to the genetics I have produced striped animals in all of my ghost litters so it appears to be genetic but I can't be more specific than that. This particular male has a nice stripe and I would expect the offsrping and subsequent combinations to show some striping in the sunglow or avalanche.

Good luck with these projects. It will interesting to see what the Avalanche(snowglo) looks like. I think it will be lighter with a different appearing white than the snow. Hopefully we will see some this year.

I am not familiar with avalanche? can you explain it more?

Is that what your calling your bloodline?

Will you be producing them this season too?

I am really interested to see who else is invlovled with this project and what their pairings look like and hear their thoughts on the project.

Thanks,
Mark

What Bill wanted to call the snoglo if he produced them first but I could wrong. Bill?

The hypo snow will be a new morph so whoever produces it first will be able to name it. I really don't like snowglo and have been considering Avalanche as a name for the hypo snow. When I produced the first ghosts the name had already been chosen for that combination. If I am fortunate enough to make another new morph I will give it a new name.
I produced a small litter of triple hets in 03 and will try to make a hypo snow this year.
As I have posted several times I think the hypo snow will have the lighter body color seen in ghosts and should make a different appearing snow. If nothing else the pattern will be reduced. Perhaps the most important thing will be the increased health that I expect the hypo genetics to bring to the snow. This should make the snow an even stronger project than it already is.
Good luck. Maybe you will be the one to name the hypo snow.

I'll keep you posted.

RUBEN, call me this weekend.

Locolizard Dec 22, 2005 11:45 AM

The mother was the female that produced the first ever ghost litter and the father was one of the ghosts produced in that litter if I remember correctly what Bill told me. I also think he said it was the first striped ghost ever prodcued?

Maybe Bill will post and help me out

Thanks,
Mark
