Here's a good shot to show you the true coloration. Sure it varies from snake to snake but beware of the imposters. I have already seen bogus Sulfur Lavs and Peanut Butters. These snakes are so different from other Brooksi you can pick them out of a bucketfull effortlessly. Even het Peanut Butters are easy to differentiate from other normal Brooksi. I can see these being huge snakes in the hobby for years to come. Tom Stevens

wanna stock up on brooksi morphs, super nice!

Nokturnel Tom Dec 22, 2005 11:20 AM

I actually have most of them now other than white sides and the new combos but since I have the white sided Speck project I can live without those...but these are a lot of fun to have. I would even go as far to say it is great to have a ton of hets for all these morphs as many differ from each other with thier own cool looks. For variation I do not see much competition as far as morphs....Thayeri may have an ever growing list of looks but for morphs my vote goes to Brooksi. I look forward to mixing and matching all these cool morphs....it is gonna be a lot of fun watching everything hatch. Tom Stevens

HA! Speaking of sulfur lav imposters here are some pics I took during the Daytona Expo. You can clearly see the unscrupulous breeder marked these as Sulfurs and the price tag to match.

I examined these very closely and there is nothing sulfur about them . They were normal lavender brooksi.

This breeder had a lot of brooks kings besides these on his table and has frequented this forum. So buyer beware when getting sulfur lavenders.

Nokturnel Tom Dec 22, 2005 02:01 PM

Yup! Now I am a fan of all the Lavs including the crosses/hybrids but what's funny is the snakes I am speaking of are so easy to identify...that it's shameful how someone would try and pull the wool over an unknowing customers eyes and pass off a similar snake as something very specific and even rare. I like the Ricks line, but even with that there's a varying degree of color which from what I understand is how they're priced...based on coloration. To slap an expensive price with a phony label...especially coming from someone who we know mocks the origin of the snake,....that is really crummy. Remember I emailed the guy advertising "super" Brooks...and of course he had no idea there was such a thing...another "specific" snake....and of course he did not alter his ad one bit. Would not even send me a pciture either. Some people....I tell ya.....blechhhhhhh......... Tom Stevens

Tom or Rainer. Could one of you post a pic of a hatchling Sulfur lavender brooksi, so as I can compare it to those regular lavenders that rainer took photos of in the below post? Thanks in advance.
Your sulfur lavender is stunning.

here are some baby hatchling pics

when they are first born they have less pigment. After the first shed they get more yelloews and reds. The white ones are snows in the pics. All the sulfur lavenders are het for snow.

as you can see after a couple feedings they tend to darken up:

and here are some older ones:

and as a little teaser for you brooks aficiandos. The future of brooksi morphs....The Jelly MorphThese are turning out better than I envisioned. More recent pics will be up soon

Nokturnel Tom Dec 22, 2005 10:56 PM

That Jelly is freakin awesome. Do not forget some Sulfur Snow pics since we're at it. Tom Stevens

Thanks Rainer. Now I see what a difference there is between the regular lavenders as opposed to the sulfur lavenders. It's a shame that those animials were represented at the show. I bet you had to bite your lip when you were standing at that table, LOL
Anyway, outstanding kings you have. My 04 N.E. Axanthic male that came from your stock is hands down one of my favorites. I can't say enough good things about Florida/brooksi kings.

Well thanks to your pic's i know what will be filling up the last 2 empty drawers in my snake rack!!! How much are top quality Sulpher Lavender's going for?? And if anyone has any available or knows anyone that does please let me know.

ZFelicien Dec 25, 2005 12:42 PM

2 seasons ago they were $400 each and i'm sure they'll still be $400 cuz there aren't many out there. Rainer aka "Bluerosy" should have them in the classifieds next season.

the Sulphur gene is an amazing one i have a pair from a sulphur male outcorssed to a bhb axanthic female that dulled the orange on the lavenders a bit but these guys are still more intense than your every day lavenders.
