Tragedy strikes

Kingofspades Dec 23, 2005 04:26 AM

Unbeknownst to me, my striped anerythristic (het. ghost) escaped his cage.
I found him today...
on the porch outside my house...
frozen solid.

My guess is he got out, evaded my cats, and made his way outside. Seeing as it has been in the teens in CT this past week, he didn't get far.

My only question...

why would he head outside? I mean, I have baseboard heaters set at 70 degrees at the moment. Why would he forsake warm and dark to go outside?
And why would he even get that far without searching for heat? My downstairs hallway is like...35-40 at night.

All in all it's upsetting...but damn he was dumb.

My stripe albino cal king gost out as well. Escape artists if you ask me. Fortunately he did it during summer. We found him on our front porch lounging in the sun about a month later and about twice the size he was when he got out. I know he made a trip to the back of the house because I found a shed skin in the hallway. Good luck to you in your search

Perhaps he smelled your cats and was "forced" to go outside?

I dunno, but as with others, I'm sorry for your loss.
