Shedding

burmaboy Dec 23, 2005 11:14 PM

I keep a number of large constrictors, and have a female BP that is doing something that none of my other snakes has ever done.Shed in pieces. She is 3years old CH. She used to have normal sheds.
But now shed in patches.
Her humidity levels are high, I use Shedding Aid by zoo med now.
Nothing helps.
She is the only and is used for my education reptile exhibit so kids can handle at least one of the snakes.
Any hints as to why she is shedding this way, and how we can return to normal?

either she is malnourished and bad health is causing the bad sheds.....

Or.....she isn't damp enough....

shed aide......don't bother I would guess.....

get a bag of shredded cypress...(Lowe's $2.99)........and put a few inches in the tank and keep it damp......(it is wet/damp from the store..they keep it outside)......sheds will come off better....

aspen cannot be wetted.......it molds fast

good luck
