Couple questions..

I've wanted a Boa for as long as I can remember (I'm 17 now)...And my stepdad had a friend who was giving his boa away (only about two feet long or so right now) he said it kept striking at his son...I thought really hard about it, whether or not I wanted to take the time to handle and care for another snake (I have a Variable Kingsnake also)....and I decided it's worth it...Well I got it today, and it's beautiful....I'm just not sure where to START with it though..I mean as far as the handling..I don't want to traumatize it or anything haha...Also, me and my oldest sister were looking at Priscilla (the name I gave it because my other snakes name us Elvis) and there's something up with the end of it's tail..my sis calls it a "wanna be rattle"...it's odd...not sure if at one point in time a piece of it's tail fell off or what..I'm hopefully going to get my mom to take me to get a checkup at the vet...just to make sure that it's healthy and everything...

Good luck with your new snake. Let him settle in for a few days before you handle it much. As far as the tail, I wonder if it's a retained shed. Can you take any closeup pics of the tail and post them?
