I'm trying to talk my friend into crossing a black milk with his imperial pueblan line to see if the offspring do turn black with age. Who wouldn't want a six foot albino banded milk that turned solid white as it got older?

Ontogenetic melanism does not seem to be affected by amelanism....if this were the case amel black rats would grow up to be solid white animals. Therefore I believe that amel black milks would look quite like amel hondurans....ugly amel hondurans. This is why "snow" animals wont be produced by animals that aren't truly melanistic (Eastern Garter Snakes for example) or at least solid colored (the California Kings used to produce the snows)

Just a thought.
