Some stats on Luca... lemme know what u think for comparison. He seems normal and healthy to me but I do not know what other Ornates of his age weigh or what size they are.
- Just under 16 months old
- Just over 9" long
- 140 Grams
He is not showing too much color yet. I do not know when a Ornate usually starts to color up (can anyone enlighten me?). His head, face and upper arms are showing some blue and have been since the summer.
Temps:
With winter in full swing here I think I am doing ok with the temps. For the winter I have a 150W ceramic heat emitter (on 24/7) added to the 100W and 150W bulbs plus the cool end has under tank heating.
Basking > range from 108-123
Ambient daytime > 80 cool end to 98 hot end
Night drop is 73 on both sides.
He does not poop daily (at least he has not been during the winter). Seems like every 3 days or so he delivers the mother load.
I also have not shortend his lighting times for the winter as I need the heat source and he is very active and stays up late. This is did not expect. I thought he would be sleeping a lot.
He is a very friendly little guy and a really good eater. I am amazed at how he eats all the different greens I offer him. His holiday treat today is blueberries.
