tank mates? ...about male cresteds

CCappy175598 Dec 24, 2005 10:18 AM

I have 2 male cresteds in a 20 gallon vertically oriented tank that is divided down the middle to keep them seperated. But lately they have been going inbetween a crack to go on the same side together. I always thought males would fight but they seem to always be next each other and prefer it that way. I can secure the structure better that divides them so it doesnt happen but im wondering if it even matters. They haven't faught yet and its definately easier to deal with if the tank wasnt divided to begin with. Do you think its possible to keep them together?

The thing is you can keep them together you just need to keep an eye on them. I have kept two males together before with no problems before but for one they grew uptogether as juvies. But if they ever breed them you can never put them back together because they will fight no doubt! You may just want to keep them seperate though just so you can monitor their heatlh easier, eating habits, and so forth.
