Can a Nerodia Fascita and a Nerodia fascita confluens mate?

I have a broad banded and a banded snake, Jorge and Tito. I'm very sure that Tito's a girl, but Jorge... not so sure about. His tail is kind of ambiguous. They're about 5 months old, and Tito isn't pregnant yet, so... is this a sign that they won't get pregnant? I love my snakes, but I'd really prefer that I only had two snakes to love.

Yes, at maturity (basically the appropriate size) they will be capable of breeding. I, personally, would not allow them the opportunity to do so. My concern in this is only that the female not be "forced" to carry young before full adulthood.

Is there any way I can keep them from breeding other than seperating them? They always curl up together and they're kind of buddies, so I don't want to seperate them. Will it throw them off of breeding if I don't let them hibernate? I live in Nebraska, and it goes from really cold in the winters to sticky and warm in the summers, so What I'm doing in keeping a heat pad under their tank and keeping a basking light on for about 10 hours everyday. And in the summer, I keep the air conditionin on so that they don't bake and take out the heat pad and only have the light on for a few hours. Will that be enough to throw them off?

Sorry, the "biological imperative" is too powerful to overcome. Remember Jurassic Park?
The age of these snakes is well below normal for breeding but, this can be accelerated by excessive feeding. Temperature is only one of the triggers to breeding. There are other factors which you're not likely to be able to control.
Best hope, ensure they're both the same sex!
