Any good book suggestions?

sassy2021 Dec 24, 2005 01:31 PM

I'm looking for a Gecko book that would have information on the color morphs of the leopard geckos and possible breeding information. If anyone has any suggestions of books or good websites that would be great! Thanks

I can't recommend "The Herptoculture of Leopard Geckos" highly enough. It's not a cheap book but well worth the money. It has pics of pretty much all the morphs out there, lots of breeding & genetics information and just about anything else you could think of Oh yeah, it's written by Philippe de Vosjoli, Ron Tremper & Roger Klingenberg, DVM.

I just received this book as a christmas gift and I really enjoy it. It really is the definitive leopard gecko book. It is very elaborate and more geared towards the breeder or someone with a more intimate knowledge of leopard geckos than the average owner. I wish everyone would purchase a book like this before buying a gecko. People would have a better sense of their animal and the kind of problems that arise. 40$, but worth it for the owner who really cares about their animal{s}.

I agree, "The Herpetoculture of Leopard Geckos" is a wonderful book. I don't own geckos yet. I decided to buy it before buying any. I was surprised to see how it contrasted a lot of things that some "internet experts" as they call them said, I also bought another book "The Leopard Gecko Manual" it doesn't include any of the more recent morphs, but it provides a general overview of where it all started and is a less in depth, and therefore less confusing way of presenting basically the same information on keeping and breeding leos.
