What else is there to do with Yellow Bellies past Ivories?

RyanT Dec 25, 2005 12:36 AM

I've been wondering the last few days about what the point is of breeding yellow bellies to anything other than another yellow belly? Being that they are co dom, they could of course be bred into any project but why? Seems to me a pure white snake with a yellow stripe down it's back is about the extent of it. I do like Ivories and would would like to get a few YBs but going beyond that seems senseless. I can't imagine adding another trait would look very good, except to just make yellow belly variations and then stop there. Can anyone enlighten me?

If you haven't seen the ebony (true ebony), or the superstripe then look them up, you will see why you want to mix them with other projects. Also the yellow belly pastel is an awesome animal as well. In fact only a couple yb crosses have come out without a great improvement, the yb spider wasn't impressive. We shall see this year what the yb really has to offer to other traits. The price could skyrocket or keep going at the pace it is now.

They're Granite X YB right? By the way, what kind of Granite? I've noticed there seems to be 2 classes. I really haven't done much of my own research on yellow bellies. Or I just didn't notice. I'm mostly focused on different pastel combos right now and haven't paid much attention to YBs at all. With so many balls to think about, I guess some have to take a back seat. I saw that stripe the other day too. What is the combination on them again? Thanks for the answers. I'm glad I asked.

Considering your interest in Pastel combo's, have you thought about Pastel Yellow Bellies?
