how long do you think it would take a BP take to get up to breeding size in the wild

after all there is no controlled food source,or are gerbils SOOOO plentiful in africa that they can eat every 5-7 days as much as it wanted.Is there any way to tell a BP's actual age that you personally havent raised yourself or if it was wild
