....n parking my grlfrens bug in the middle of the freeking hwy going up to Julian from Borrego; blocking & stacking traffic for nearly a mile in order to chouse a freeking nasty unwilling-ungrateful helleri off the road w/ a floppy wand of sagebrush...couldnt find a stick! A CHP'r whipped around the parade & was so astonished at my stupidity (this was back ~ 73-4ish)...he just scolded me as mr buzztail did likewise...sometimes ya just get lucky! Beers / RxR

I've never received any kind of ticket or warning from an officer for doing this. I've slept in my car along some of the highways out west and have had troopers come and tell me I wasnt in a safe area and needed to move, but thats the extent of it. However Houston actually just passed a law making it illegal to park your car on the side of the highway and leave it unattended. Not really much a problem for me since there arent many places to herp around here anymore.

Never.

Me and a buddy did get pulled over at Bagdad once for "driving back and forth too many times." According to the friendly county sheriffs "all snake hunters are druggers" and we were sure to have drugs in the car. So they waisted 45 minutes of prime (10:00-10:45) herping time going through our rental car. They seemed almost genuinely surprised not to find a suitcase full od PCP or something.
