The egyptian toads (Bufo regularis) that I keep rarely bury themselves. They're fairly active during the day, but like most toads you see them roaming their tank alot at night. Feeding pretty easy, they tend to accept food at any time of the day/night. My adult pair that i've had for a year are tame enough to hand or tong feed. They don't get much larger than 3 1/2 inches s/v. One toad could probably live happily in a 15 gal tank, a pair or trio in a 20 long. with some climbing and hiding places. Petco seems to be the one who has them regularly in stock.

There's plenty of other active frogs/toads that would be good choices. Like Madagasican Green Burrowing Frog (Scaphiophryne marmorata), or Spiny Burrowing Frog (Scaphiophryne pustulosa), European Green Toads(Bufo Viridis), Marine/Cane Toads (Bufo Marinus), Tomato frogs (Dyscophus guineti), Colorado River toads (Bufo Alvarius). I'm sure there's many more,
it just depends on what size tanks you have and size frog/ toad your interested in.
