what do you think?

opinions please?
please excuse the blurred pictures i dont claim to be a great photographer

the male cooter is on the left, the female yellow bellie on the right, this picture doesnt show the size difference between the two. in real she really does dwarf him, she is at least double his weight.

these pics were taken in the new 48" tank setup. using a bog standard fishtank filter which will cope for a tank double this size (unsure of the make/model as i have had it so long) with standard filter wool as a medium.
in real the water is crystal clear, not sure why it has turned out yellow, but i assure you it is clear

Is that just a UVA/UVB bulb or an actual basking light?

lauralyon Dec 27, 2005 06:35 AM

Both. there is the ubv/a with a spot light, but with the tank backing onto the radiator, the air temperature is warm enought to not need a basking lamp. water temp is at 72f/22c, air temp at 74f/23c without the spot. with the air temp being 82f/28c with the spot on.
