bigboy313 Dec 26, 2005 08:02 PM

Ok so my question is one that has been bothering me for a while now. Is the scientific name of a childrens python Liasis childreni, or is it Antaresia childreni?

Antaresia replaced Liasis as the accepted genus name for them I believe in the early 1990's.

lol...I was in Alice Spring, Australia in 1996, but had gotten out of snakes for some time. They have a desert reptile exhibit there, and I told the guy, that looks like a Children's python, but it has the wrong name.
