Where to get frozen mice on the internet?

squale Dec 26, 2005 10:19 PM

I just got a Ball Python and need to order some frozen mice online. Right now the breeder has been feeding the snake live mice but I want to give him pre-frozen mice instead now...

any suggestions?

Just something to think about, but you may want to keep feeding him what he is used to (live) until he gets established with you and your routine. It is sometimes a challenge to switch a ball python, which has been feeding on live prey, to f/t rodents. It's none of my business, but I'd continue with the live prey for several feedings, until he is used to his new surroundings, and then try to switch him over.

If, to let him settle in before the attempt w/ f/t is indeed your goal, and you are just trying to find a good supplier, then I apologize for the lecture...and give RodentPro a try. Good luck.

thanks for the info, I actually used to order from this place called SAS Supply, they seemed pretty good..

No problem on the info, my pleasure. I'm just tentative about giving out friendly advice when it is not requested.

I also used to deal with SAS in the mid '90s, buying live rodents for my retail herp shop. At the time, they were up here in NY, and a great supplier. I don't know their situation now though. Later.

Good advice. Also, whoever you decide to go with make sure they vacuum seal. I just received an order from RodentPro and they did not vacuum seal.

We get our frozen rodents from The Mouse Factory. They are vacuum sealed and exceptionally clean. We have ordered from other suppliers, but none came close to quality we are currently receiving.
