Am I correct in NOT worrying?

wizbang Jul 24, 2003 10:51 AM

First time breeder. One little guy slit his egg on the morning of July 23rd and by this morning was out about and now resides in his own house.

None of the others have even slit their eggs but the eggs look good. The CSM says most will come out in 24 to 48hrs of the first. I guess I won't worry until tomorrow morning, just seems like with one totaly out and on the move, others would at least be slitting their eggs by now.

from start to finish mine hatched over a five-day span. I wouldn't worry. Remember too, the hatch length is dependend on temperature over time and no incubator heats that evenly. Ideal situations and perfect incubators would probably give you 24-48hrs but even my hovabator must not have done that well...

I think you'll find too, if you rotate the egg contatiner inside the incubator you'll get more consistent hatching results (time wise)...

good luck, congrats!

reptiles definitely teach us patience...

Thanks for the input.

Guess I won't worry till the weekend then. I like to worry, makes me feel like I'm trying harder.
