akamai- my baby

this is my little one... his or her name is akamai.. it means smart in hawaiian... its during feeding time which is the only time i really see him/her.. is there any way to tell the sex this young?

you could probly have it DnA sexed but other than that no, not until it reaches sexual maturity or is close to being sexually mature.

Very cute! No, you cannot sex it until they are larger and the sex hormones begin to increase-usually about 4 years old. I know I can't really tell by the picture but is the setup moist enough? Young turtles really benefit from damp, warm conditions.

i am fairly sure it is moist enough... he has a large area with sphagnum moss in one corner, and a hide area with damp bog moss.. i also dampen the eco earth when it gets dry... i have read that having too dry conditions can cause pyramiding? not sure if they have proof of this yet, but i would rather be safe than sorry...
