Matching colors in possible breeding pairings

RachelS Dec 26, 2005 11:39 PM

I'm currently looking for a female for my flame/partial pinstripe male, and have found a breeder I really like. He currently has four females available, and I'm trying to figure out which one would be the best mate, color-wise, for my male.

He has an orange chevron, a red/brown dalmation, a solid orange, and an orange dalmation. He's suggested the chevron, as there will be a greater chance of pinstriping.

Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

it's kind of hard without seeing pictures, but i would say whichever animal seems most striking to you when you see it, especially if they are all the same cost. This is one of the things i like the most about cresteds, is trying to figure out which animals to pair with which. i'd say try to create something you think would look cool by potentially mixing the patterns of the two. you will end up with many different offspring that may look like either parent, or neither parent. also, i tend to pick structural traits on a nice animal, rather than a super nice animal with minimal crests or a very narrow head or something.
