Indentifying the problem.

I am really hoping someone can tell me what I'm looking at. This female has the back marks only SOMETIMES, usually when she is sleeping, or moved to a cooler part of the cage. It is ONLY in the left eye area, and has not affected the other side.

She is a ferocious eater, stong gripped, pretty calm, and shows great pinks and oranges.

She's sleeping in the photo, I had just woken her up with the flash from the previous photo.

Another photo.

As I said, she only shows the phantom mask sometimes. and I THINK it is usually when she is sleeping or in the lower cooler temperature gradient of the cage.

As I said on the other forum, I think it is a pigmentation abnormality with excess melanine or something migrating to the area. Just wanted to see if it was an agreeable opinion on here.

Very odd! Yes, sounds like a pigmentation thing. Keep the pics and check back with them occasionally to see if it changes shape or size. If not, its just her.

I have decided that its bruised because of scratching during a shed. Since minor bruises heal fairly quick, I'll let it be, keep an eye on her (eye) and she will be mated next month.
