Winter (bit long)

kay1688 Dec 27, 2005 07:03 AM

I have heard that bearides calm down and sleep alot in the winter but I just wanted to check that everything is normal.

my beardie is staying in bed all day and looks really drowsy all the time, He isn't eating much and he isn't as active as he usually is.

The temperature in his tank is the same as it always is and he can't see out the window ( not that there is a difference between summer and winter in England LOL) i was wondering how he knew it was winter.

If this is totally normal what should i do?
Should i carry on as usual feeding ( which inolves getting him out of bed) and turning the light on or should i make changed to the temperature, light time or feeding times.

Any help will be much appreciated
Thank you in advance

Kay

You should cut down his feeding and defintly dont let crickets stay in the cage. Also cut his lighting down to 8-10 hours a day. And animals can sense barometric pressure changes. They can tell when winter is coming long before we can. Anyways good luck!

peace,
