For the last few days Zippy has been acting weird. Normally he/she is very mellow, and will meet me at the cage door when I come into the room, waiting to get out. But for the last few days, when I approach the cage, he will sit on his log and stare at me, when I reach in to get him, he will freak out and run like crazy. When I eventually get him out, instead of climbing on my arm like normal and hang out on my shoulder, he now jumps down and runs like crazy, not his usual self. He/she is about 10 inches svl, and he has a cage that is 5 foot high by 5 foot long, by 2 foot deep, but will get a bigger enclosure in the spring, his basking temp is 97, and his cage temps are 87, humidity runs anywhere from 75-90% depending on the time of day, and he has UV light on 12 off 12 hours we recently also added a new night lamp that is red, and it's different from the one he/she had before. Any help with this strange behavior will be appreciated, I'm right now guessing its because he is starting to mature, and isn't that sweet little baby he was, or could it be his new night lamp?
