Pixie's sister hatched out last night!!!!!!!!!!! >>>

Cleopatra Jul 24, 2003 11:24 AM

she is just as beautiful as her sister, although she may be slightly bigger. i am gonna keep her in the incubator until the evening when she will be put in the 10gal tank with Pixie. i am worried about placing them together, but the tank is definitly big enough for the two of them, and there are 6 hides (3 on the cool side, 3 on the warm side (includes a larger humid hide)). is that okay or should I add more hides??? i just don't want to stress them out, but i don't have any other setup available.

If you cant seperate them i would think the six hides will be enough. Be careful when they start eating, food movement gets them excited when their this young and they begin biting at anything that moves like the others tail, legs, face, etc. Good luck with them.

As long as you make sure both geckos are getting enough food and one isn't being more dominant than the other.

My hatchlings are kept in shoe boxes and the setups are pretty simple. My latest hatchlings are in a 10 gallon tank until my heat tape gets here for my other shelf.
I have the bottom of a milk jug cut out for a hide, a humid hide, water dish, and a calcium dish with mealies. I also use toilet paper tubes as well, they love that!! :D They'll eat the mealies which are also covered in calcium and I have seen them licking the calcium before out of a dish.
They dont need anything fancy in their tank, just keep it simple for hatchlings.

I've read in a couple different places about moving hatchling ever week or two as they have noticeable size difference. So it highly unlikely you will be able to have them together long. Thats what I'd would think atleast
