Male to Female ratios

tailswithscales Dec 28, 2005 10:18 AM

I was wondering what the male to female ratios are from some of the larger breeders on this forum. I currently have 3.13.1
The 0.0.1 I hope to soon definitively know the sex on it.

I am going to soon start aquiring more females and want to be sure that I have enough males to cover them in the 2006 breeding season.
Thank you,

I typically do 1.6 as a rule of thumb.

for colubrids I would buy /own/breed like 2.3 of species or mophs........

for balls I would say 1.6 would be cool as long as you KNOW the male can and will do his job......

......let's say you have a pastel and a spider and an albino male.and 18 girls........

you would be better off having at least 2 of each male /morph.......

.............I prefer to use 2 males for the same females........yea...like 2 male albino and 10 or 12 girls and throw both the males in with all the girls in turn.....

........young males give you trouble at times.........

yet sometimes they breed like a dog at 8 months age and then don't breed well their second season......

balls are a pain..........
