Ackie nail problem

grayada1 Dec 28, 2005 03:17 PM

I have notice a couple of my ackies nails are looking different. they are growing straight and do not curve downward. I do not think this is life threatening but am just trying to figure what would cause this in order to fix it. The substrate is dirt basking temps are 150F and 100F. Any idea what could be the cause or what this could indicate would be helpful. IM going to try to get a picture of this in a couple days(its my gfs camera. Any help would be nice. Thanks

It may be completely normal. Not all claws should have the sicle curve.
Let me know which ones are straight.

ie: left forelimb, 'thumb' and 'ring finger'

OR-- number the digits, starting with the thumb as "1"

ie: left rear limb #'s 1, 4 & 5

Have fun counting!

on her right front foot the 3rd and 4th nail from the head are different. this is why i worry because its not the same from the left foot.
