Actually I just popped by and saw your post! You haven't been on the forums that long, so I do not think your knew Luna (lost her in July), but simply put, I get very excited about first time gravid veiled's and their first time gravid keepers (OK, her gravid, not you! lol!!) We can chat about Luna later....
Down in the hole is such a good thing
My personal recommendation is to cover her cage completely and keep her as dark and quiet as you can. I could never help myself in the middle of the night to peek in and see that she was either turned around (laying) or covering (done). With Luna, from digging to laying to back in the branches was 10 or more hours. I never did find out if this is typical all I can say is that it seemed like forever but was always so glad to see her back in her branches. She was newver bred and always laid b/t 37-42(!) eggs everytime - it took a lot out of her.
