YEAH...TUNA WATER!!!!!

wisema2297 Dec 28, 2005 08:17 PM

Thanks to who ever originally posted the tip about using tuna water to get picky hatchlings to start eating!! I have a hatchling snow corn that I have force feed for 9 consecutive feedings. I tried the tuna water trick and she hit it before I could even turn my back. Once again my gratitude goes out and I hope that everyone here had a great Christmas!!

Glad that it worked out for you. Always great to learn some new tricks of the trade from others. If I ever have a problem with a future hatchling, I'm breaking out the Starkist.

Ha, you shouldn't have any trouble getting those robust little beauties to eat. But great tip anyway for the corns, we love too

Glad to hear that worked. This tip has been circulated on the hognose forum heavily and is practically the scent source of choice. Tuna juice has worked well with hognoses where those little buggers won't up for anything.

has anyone used this for adult eastern hogs? jeff

I don't recall specific age groups, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Of course, tuna juice has not worked with everyone, but it does seem to be the most consistent and effective method so far.
