Pedialyte Question

cornelius85 Jul 24, 2003 12:05 PM

I have been told that pedialyte is only good for 48 hours. Can you freeze most of it and use as needed, or after 48 hrs its no good no matter what you do? They only sell big applre juice type containers and I won't be using much at a time and it seems like quite a waste to not even use a 1/4 of it before it goes bad.

Thanks

Pedialyte, I have never heard that it goes bad after 48 hours unless it says it on the container. I usually use in in when i need it but if i have some over 6 months old I will throw it out. I also tend to use Gatorade more than Pedialyte also. But that is just my preference.

I visited Pedialyte's website and it's true that you can not use it after 48 hours. Click on the link below to read what Pedialyte has to say about it and why.

Maybe the Pedialyte Freezer Pops are the way to go. You can store them in the freezer, and thaw one out a day ahead in the refrigerator and they are just like the juice.

and freeze them, then bag them and leave in the freezer. I buy the smaller 4 pack bottle size adn open one then freeze the rest. Just set in a cup and I dilute it with spring water and use as needed.

I bought a 4 pack of single serving size at Rite Aid.. not sure who else carries them.
