I know this may sound a little strange, but I just built a cage from an old dresser, gutted the insides, and used the bottom drawer as an area to catch the water that may go there. The actual bottom of the cage is just screen. Hope that helped, and if it didn't, I'm sorry!

Hey,

I personally do not like screen bottoms on cages. We use hard pvc sheeting. Any hard plastic sheeting will work (preferably white). Home depot or Lowe's ussually has it, but they might make you buy it in a 4'x8' sheet. Be sure not to use wood.

I use a screan botton, stapled to the wood bottom very tight and securley. I also a some 1x2's laying accros the bottom of the cage to suppot and potted plants I decide to put in.

The peices of wood generally dry out between mistings or at least overnight if I decide to do a long term misting. Also, When I have pots sitting on them, the pots catch the water rather than the wood.

You can see in this photo of myself (I don't look like that anymore )and cage, I have not yet put in the wood slats. Though the would be attached horozontaly at the bottom there.

Wow, my spelling is atrocious.

I ran across Will's how to in the cage forum when we were debating about adopting a cham. Great work and design, too bad we had already bought one for out mountain horned dragon earlier and didn't get the cham I am without a reason to build at the momment, but when I need to next time, I'm going to be following his! Thanks for posting those out there!
