MoFlo :/ speckled kings

mk3000 Dec 29, 2005 01:06 PM

Howdy :D
I just entered a new project that might have some interesting results, a Missouri speckled king bred to a Florida speckled king, as you see MO specks are actually speckled whereas FL are mainly banded/striped with a high yellow undertone...I believe these 2 will produce a sort of granite speckled...I will call the offspring moflo's....catchy aint it? anyway gimme some feedback on what you think.
I have started the cooling process, here are the parents enjoy :D

Well for starters, pure holbrooki do not range into FL. The holbrooki in the extreme western tip of the panhandle are getula X holbrooki intergrades in the range overlaps. This is why your FL "speckleds" are banded. So you are not producing pure holbrooki, but just introducing fresh blood into the intergrade mix. If you do produce these, then you should let people know what you have, intergrades, not pure holbrooki. If you want some nice looking holbrooki, get you a locale pair, line breed them for a few generations to get what you want, and you will have a much nicer snake, IMHO. However, if intergrades are your thing, then good luck with your project, just make sure people know what they are getting when you produce/sell these.
