just got my first crested gecko

nogard Dec 29, 2005 03:28 PM

I have been toying with the thought of getting a crested, and finally decided to get one yesterday, it is a male, about 5 inches total length.
I have always wanted to make a nice display cage for the office, and thought the crested was a perfect idea, is it okay to wait before I introduce a female to him, or will they clash much like monitors if they are not associated with eachother before they are adults
thanks

it should make no difference, in fact, the males usually will mate better the longer they've gone without a female, atleast in my experience.
only thing you should look out for is them being overly aggressive towards eachother for the first few hours they are together. biting and attacking is pretty normal, and they don't usually do too much damage to eachother, i just like to make sure one doesn't catch the others tail in it's mouth or anything.
