the boss wanted all venomous reptiles together - not separated as they originally were prior to change within the forum listing. gilas and beadeds are venomous and when grouped with venomous snakes, the collection as a whole no longer fits under just the snake catagory. As a mixed group they are better suited to the general topics.

Who is "the boss"?

Kevin

Probably the "Boss" is Jeff, I would assume.
But, phwyvern's explanation makes perfect sense.

Jeff Barrenger, Founder-CEO, I assume. And phwyvern, with all due respect, your role?

wingert1 Dec 30, 2005 09:12 PM

Thanks for the info on who runs the show.

No biggie...
Some sources are saying they aren't even reptiles.

From a technical point of view, yes they are not lizards. But this website is not strictly meant for the acedemic types - we also have to take into account the novices, hobbyists, general public at large, etc. Since crocodilians are commonly associated with 'lizards' they best fit under the lizard catagory instead of the general catagory.

However, that just promotes the layperson's ignorance.
Personally, I'd give them their own set of forums, but then I realize there wouldn't be many sub-forums under that.
Do Tuataras even have a forum?
Happy New Year!

I'm not buying that as the reason. I am not sure what the reason was but....

..my thoughts too Kevin, when I had to go looking elsewhere for the Forum. Kinda like hiding it to distance from the hot part of the hobby. Vaguely undesirable topic...kinda like the relative the family doesn't want to claim.

wingert1 Dec 30, 2005 04:21 PM

That may or may not be but it seems more likely to me. Kingsnake does what Kingsnake wants to do. That's for sure!
