Nitida (cape kingsnake)

I don't have pictures (there are a couple online) but nitida was a name given to the partially melanistic striped calkings from the southern parts of Baja California. They are dark brown or black with a faint light stripe pattern evident.

The subspecies nitida is no longer valid as they have been shown to be intergrades between nigrita and californiae in the southern part of Baja.

There are also intergrades between nigrita and the banded cal kings which were described as L.g. conjuncta. This name is not valid either.
