tempermental boa

i just bought a 1.5 year old boa. I have given the columbian red tail a week to settle in now it just snaps at the glass anytime i walk by. i have tried to reach in bought it constantly lunges at me snapping what can i do and does this mean maybe it is hungry

Food is probably your answer. Depending on the last feeding time plus a 5 days settle in period I’d say he’s ready for food.

Feed him see if he settles down.

Try food..also check your temps if you have not already. Make sure that is good. Sometimes they tend to snap, then are fine after that. Hunger or being uncomfortable or threatened will be your most likely causes. Try food, and checking the environment. Of that doesnt work, let him get past that initial strike response, and cover his head with a towel and bring him out of the enclosure, and remove the towel. Sometimes just getting them use to being handled, if all else fails, will be the way to go.
