Iguana not eating

reamk924 Dec 30, 2005 08:05 AM

I have a 3 foot male that since the middle of December hardly ever comes off his shelf to eat. He is getting thin, but I don't know what I can do to help his situation. I have tried to put his food on his shelf, but he still 'nit-picks' at it. Any help is appreciated. Oh yeah, and he is in good health, has a 160 watt mercury vapor bulb, and has free-roam of a bedroom in my home. thanks for any help.

Sounds like breeding season to me but I'd still have a fecal done at your vet in case he has parasites. J

I would look at the room temperature itself. Maybe it is
too cold for him when moving around. Also, have you
changed his diet? I would continue to keep his food
within easy reach and try some different things to get
an idea of what he really likes.

Good luck
Linda
