How often do you feed them to get them up so quick? I have a few that are growing pretty fast but I dont think that fast.

I try to get them on appropriately sized rat weanlings as soon as possible. Do not oversize your food items. Best snakes are those that may feed twice on smaller items on the same day...
Any thoughts on the effects of long term health/life??? Just wondering!!!!!ERIC
We don't feed them to the point that their body is 5 times the size of their head. That is why I used the term "appropriately" in the post. If you look at the pics you will see well proportioned animals that never miss a meal once a week.
When snakes are growing feed them what they will eat. All they do is grow. Not get fat. Same goes with breeding females. You can not over feed them. What to watch are adults that are not being bred and are no longer growing at a fast rate. They can become obese. This is just my opinion but it's true. So there.

not that feeding a lot is bad. b/c i'm doing it now, feeding twice a week trying to get some girls up there for next year 05's.

Haha, I was thinking the same thing. Those must be steroid injected weanlings!!!

No kidding...I said I got them started on rat weanlings and continued with appropriately sized food items until 1600 grams...
LOL - I'm with you - mine grow at about the same rate and they get fed one appropriate size meal a week (if anything I tend to feed a little smaller than what they can handle) - but they seem to be about 100 grams per month of their age: my 4 month olds are about 400 grams, 6 mos. 600 grams, 8 months 800 grams, my one year olds are 1200-1400 grams o'course mine seem to taper off after about 1 year and 1400 grams. But they feed great - once a week like clockwork, rarely do any of mine skip a meal.

Very good looking stuff Cory. By the way, I got three 66% poss. het. axanthic females from Cory in 2004 that are all over 1600 grams. One is actually just under 2000 grams. All have been bred by my Axanthic male this year. Hopefully we can prove some out. I also feed mine one rat a week. It can be done.
Good luck with that stuff Cory,
