To quote Dr. Drew, "Perfectly natural, perfectly healthy..."
-----
uromastyx geyri (Saharan/Nigerian), hardwickii (Indian),
macfadyeni (Somalian), ocellata (Sudanese), ornata (Ornate), benti pseudophilbyi
I was wondering why all my femakes had white stains on their backs, after reading the book by Wilms and then seeing it, its the male marking them, all part of the circle dance. Much of their behavior is similar to bearded dragon society, still I feel kinda sorry for the females its looks rough on them, but it is the natural way..............
if he's in with a female its the beginnings of courtship, if he's alone I haven't got a clue.....either way I don't think its something a sick one does.
Thank you I didnt think it was something to be worried of I just needed to hear it from others. Now he is housed next to another enclosure that houses a younger mali..the ironic thing is he has before showed behavior of wanting to mate with it(biting the skin on the side..not hard tho) but its a male. The appearance does look like a female but I had my vet sex it with a snake probe?
>>The biting of another male could very well have been signs of argession and not mating.
most definitely, one male biting another is not a good thing. It is virtually impossible to keep 2 healthy males together, especially long term.
Im just wondering if the vet could have been wrong..my younger "male" is about 3 now and he still shows no black coming in like my other. Also the youngers pores dont seem to protrude as much as my true males. And just so you guys dont sweat they are housed separtly theyve never been together in a cage it was just when i gave them some free time to explore my room(supervised i must add).
